2024 has been a year of immense political uncertainty and ongoing war and conflict. As in 2023, pleasingly, investment returns have been positive in absolute terms and actually are ending the year comfortably ahead of both inflation and the returns available from cash. Real returns are vital to us all as they preserve our purchasing power moving forward and 2024 has reversed some of the erosion which occurred in the previous years.

As in previous years, the Tacit Directors have made a charitable donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards. This year we have chosen Prostate Cancer UK. Prostate Cancer UK’s continuing research, together with the information and personal support provided, assists families through their loved one’s often very complex and sensitive cancer journeys and is invaluable

The Tacit offices will be closed on the public holidays for Christmas and New Year. The Tacit Team will operate a skeleton staff on other days and will monitor email and telephone lines. Any urgent matters will be dealt with as required; non-urgent matters will be dealt with after we return to full operation on 2 January.
